Abstract

This layer shows ancient forests in northwestern BC. Ancient forests are described in provincial forest inventory data as forest stands older than 400 years (for ecosystems with rare stand-replacing disturbance) and older than 250 years (for ecosystems with higher stand-replacing disturbance rates). This layer was produced by the Old Growth Technical Advisory Panel and further details on the methodology and links to full datasets may be found on the Skeena Salmon Data Centre.
