- Watershed Stewardship Decision Support Tool for Babine River and Babine Lake
- Abstract
Results of the 2022 (BABR) and 2023 (BABL) Equivalent Clearcut Area (ECA) analysis for the Watershed Management Areas (WMAs) at multiple Watershed Management Levels (WMLs) for the Babine River (BABR) and Babine Lake (BABL) Watershed Atlas Groups with respect to Peak-Flow-Sensitivity (PFS) thresholds for risk categorization. The ECA analysis was completed for SkeenaWild Conservation Trust by Eclipse Geomatics Ltd.. PSF assessment work was completed by SKR Consultants Ltd. and Northern Habitat Solutions with assistant from Lake Babine Nation in 2020, which computed PFS scores and ECA risk categories for the WMAs at multiple WMLs. The project was initiated by the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development 2017/18. The WMAs are themed by the results of the ECA analysis.
Additional forest harvesting and old growth deferral layers are included for comparison and may be turned on by clicking the eye icon on the layers list.
